DAPA 2021 - MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Samantha Greenlund is a professional dancer who has performed all over the world. Her career has been a range of jobs, ultimately leading her to the cabaret world. After graduating college as a dance performance major, she went on to dance on cruise ships, in concerts, musicals, theme parks, go-go dancing, dance troupes, Las Vegas shows and the Moulin Rouge in Paris, France. Some highlights for her were back-up dancing for Jennifer Lopez, re-creating an entire Vegas show with a well-renowned choreographer and dancers, and having the opportunity to be both a principal dancer and
specialty act in Moulin Rouge. She found her niche in being a showgirl and with that, cabaret was the perfect fit. She was blessed to be a part of two of the most significant showgirl shows in the world as a featured dancer for “Jubilee!” in Las Vegas, Nevada and the Moulin Rouge in Paris. She is currently still involved in smaller scale cabaret/ showgirl jobs in New York City and currently becoming more involved in the t.v./film world of dance.

DAPA 2021 - MEET YOUR TEACHERS

British born Simon trained as a dancer, singer and actor at the Corona Academy in London. He arrived in Paris in 1983 to perform at both the Lido and the Moulin Rouge, appeared in the French versions of Kiss Me Kate, Barnum and Hair and performed in many of Disneyland Paris' stage shows.
Vocal and musical theatre coach as well as show-writer at Disneyland Paris and elsewhere, Simon is also frequently involved in production, directing and event coordination.

DAPA 2021 - MEET YOUR TEACHERS.

C’est en tant que danseur et comédien que Sébastien Savin commence sa carrière. On le voit dans les productions parisiennes « Peau d’âne », « Escurial », «Les saisons de l’amour » ou encore « Peals and Pearls » et il chante, danse et joue la comédie dans de nombreux spectacles de Disneyland Paris.

2005-2006, Sébastien chorégraphie les comédies musicales « La petite fille aux allumettes » (Théâtre Déjazet, théâtre du Ranelagh), « Big Bang Bulle » et « Le petit chose » (Tournée), « Sleepin Bee » (théâtre Michel).

En 2007, il met en scène et chorégraphie « La petite sirène » au théâtre de Paris et en tournée en Europe, « Entendez-vous l’orchestre » (Théâtre Marsoulan et Essaïon), puis en 2009 « Pinocchio, le musical » dont il co-écrit le livret avec Florence Trinca. (À Paris au théâtre le Trianon, théâtre du Gymnase, théâtre du jardin d’acclimatation et en tournée en France et en Europe.)

De 2012 à 2015, Sébastien expérimente une nouvelle facette de ce métier avec le seul en scène. Les one man shows « À l’envers, à l’endroit » et « Les dessous de Savin » qu’il co-écrit avec Frédérique Lelaure sont joués à paris au Palais des Glaces, Ciné 13, théâtre du Gymnase et en province ainsi qu’au festival off d’Avignon.

En 2015, le mythique cabaret de la rive gauche, Le Paradis Latin, lui propose de reprendre le rôle que tenait Jean-Marie Rivière. C'est ainsi qu’il mènera la revue du haut lieu des nuits Parisienne durant plus de 1000 nuits.

En 2020. Les théâtres sont fermés depuis plusieurs mois, et Sébastien créé le podcast "Les dessous de Savin », les tribulations et réflexions d’un comédien quarantenaire, Parisien, gay et célibataire qui incarne sans le savoir mais à la perfection les émois de sa génération. C’est un seul en scène mais sans la scène. Un film sans les images. Dans cette émission hebdomadaire, Sébastien raconte ses aventures, comme un feel-good movie uniquement avec sa voix et des bruitages qui immerge totalement et instantanément dans l'action.

DAPA 2021 - MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Chanteuse, coach vocal, et directrice musical, Miranda Crispin travaille depuis plus que vingt cinq ans dans les arts du spectacle. Directrice et fondatrice d’American Musical Theatre Live Paris, elle a travaillé avec de nombreux artistes de Broadway et du West End, tels que Benj Pasek et Justin Paul (Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman), Adam Kantor (Rent, A Band’s Visit), et David Gardiner.

A Paris, on a pu la voir dans The Last Five Years et Songs For A New World en version originale (m.e.s Stéphane Ly-Cuong), Next Thing You Know/Un jour ou l’autre (m.e.s. Tolgay Pekin), et a été en parallèle la directrice vocale des spectacles Edges, Sleepin’ Bee, et It’s Only life, en collaboration avec le compositeur de Broadway, John Bucchino. Elle dirige des dizaines de cabaret-concerts aux Etats Unis et en France, y compris The Best of Broadway, The Andrew Byrne Cabaret, From Stage to Screen, Jazz on Broadway, and I Got Rhythm!.

D’origine américaine, Miranda dirige des masters classes dans plusieurs théâtres et universités à travers les États-Unis, en France et en Angleterre. Artiste polyvalente, elle fait de nombreux spectacles musicaux et opéras aux États-Unis dont Die Fledermaus, Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, Smokey Joe’s Café, Cinderella, Little Shop of Horrors, The Wiz, Urinetown, Godspell, The Full Monty, Urinetown, The Last Five Years, Peter Pan, Violet, Honk!, Joseph...Dreamcoat, The Secret Garden, A Little Night Music et A Funny Thing Happened... de Stephen Sondheim parmi d’autres.

French and American, Quentin Bruno (He/Him) is an actor, singer, dancer currently living in NYC.

Theatre credits include AMT Live's Next Thing You Know, the European tour of Cabaret, Disneyland Paris (Frozen, Swing into Spring,...) , South Pacific, Island Song as well as Naked Boys Singing! (Off-Broadway debut) and Manifesto : Diaghilev.

Film credits include the award winning French musical short “Lorraine ne sait pas chanter” (Lorraine can’t sing), the lead in the festival selected mockumentary “Egg on your face (Avoir l’air plutôt ridicule)”, and “Check, Please, the webseries”.

Commercial credits include Stella Artois, Steinway and Sons, Duolingo, and many others.

In 2015, he was one of Mika’s talents on The Voice France.

Quentin has also worked as a choreographer, show adaptor/translator ( C-Ω-N-T-α-C-T / Un jour où l’autre - French version of Next Thing You Know ), director and assistant director, and is thrilled to collaborate with Miranda Crispin and the AMT Live! team once again, spreading his love of Theatre internationally.

FRÉDÉRIQUE LELAURE

Comédienne, Auteur et Metteur en scène, depuis 30 ans maintenant, j’utilise tout d’abord mes qualités d’artiste pour réaliser des formations à la Prise de Parole en Radio et Télévision, au Media-Training, et au Travail de la Voix. J’interviens régulièrement en qualité́ de formatrice ou coach pour de nombreuses sociétés comme le CFPJ (Centre de Formation Professionnel des Journalistes) Université France télévision, France 3 régions, la SNCF, et différents constructeurs automobiles comme MERCEDES, BMW, PSA notamment pour le compte de DEKRA AUTOMOTIVES SOLUTIONS.

Certifiée Coach professionnelle et diplômée d’état par la Haute École de Coaching à Paris je suis spécialisée dans les modules communication et comportementaux, je crée différents modules de formation et des accompagnements individuels ou en groupe (gestion du temps, management, gestion du stress, prise parole, communication, gestion de conflits etc...)

Experte en relation interpersonnelle, j’aime transmettre et accompagner les professionnels au changement à travers des formations ludiques et sur mesure.

DAPA 2021 - MEET YOUR TEACHERS

Dr. Kevin JUSTUS is an independent scholar who wears duel career hats, being an art historian and classical musician.

Kevin has his Ph.D. in Art History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his Masters of Music and Master of Arts from The University of Arizona. A Chateaubriand scholar and French Ambassadorial Laureate, Dr. Justus specializes in and publishes on the patronage of Louis XV and Versailles. He works biannually with the Chateau of Versailles and is in the process of creating a monumental photographic database for Versailles to assist in scholarly research and conservation. Dr. Justus is also in charge of conserving, documenting and interpreting the remarkable Fine Art collection of St. Philip’s in the Hills, Tucson, Arizona.

In his career, Kevin has worked and performed in a variety of musical groups and productions. Being a musical and theatrical impresario, Dr. Justus believes strongly in the power and necessity of live music.
Dr. Justus produced and created the successful benefit concert Letter from Home-Aaron Copland’s America that included his work on Copland’s film music. He has worked with the critically championed dance company Artifact Dance Project where his piece A Night at the Ballet was premiered. Kevin’s adaptation of Orwell's Animal Farm was performed by Artifact in October of 2016 and the full-length ballet Judith in 2017. Having worked with numerous artists within the sister arts, Dr. Justus firmly believes that the future of the Fine Arts rests in imaginative collaboration and the power and importance of education.

Dr. Justus' 2019 TEDx Talk "Architecture as Portraiture" examined the Petit Trianon in Versailles as a portrait of Louis XV.

Fred BRODARD

Frederic studied drama (Meisner method) at the Cours Florent in Paris and musical theatre at the Guildford School of Acting in the UK.

He adapted and directed SISTER ACT at the Cours Florent (FR), CARMINA BURANA in Lausanne (CH), CHRONOPHAGE ET LA VALLEE DU TEMPS in Vallée de Joux (CH), SWEENEY TODD in Lausanne (CH) and TOM SAWYER in Servion (CH).
He has also directed numerous Cabarets and 'showcase versions' of shows like THE LAST FIVE YEARS, OKLAHOMA!, FRAGMENTS OF LIFE AND DEATH, CINQ THE MUSICAL or MT CAMP A CABARET. This year, Frederic is directing INTO THE WOODS in Vevey (CH) and a Swiss choir in ENTRE SOL ET CIEL.

Alongside his career as a director, he has performed as an actor since 2009 in shows such as LES MISERABLES (CH), CHICAGO (CH), ROCK OF AGES (CH), LA REVUE DE CUCHE ET BARBEZAT (CH), THE LAST FIVE YEARS (CH), NEXT THING YOU KNOW (FR - with AMT Live! Paris), THE APPRENTICESHIP OF DUDDY KRAVITZ (UK), FABULOUS 50 (UK), SPILT MILK (UK), BIG CRUNCH (CH), CONFINAGE (CH) and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (CH).

In Paris, he is also known for being the co-creator of the AMT Live! Paris monthly Open Mic at the Marcounet Peniche.

Originally from Seattle, Lauren Van Kempen holds a Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance and Cello Performance. Based in France since 2010, Lauren is a multifaceted artist performing opera, musical theatre and chamber music.

Most recent credits include Wonderful Town (Violet) at Opera de Toulon, Kiss Me Kate (Lois cover) at the Théâtre du Châtelet and Théâtres de la Villes de Luxembourg, The Double-Threat Trio (Nina) at La Comédie Nation, and The King and I at Theatre du Châtelet.

Since 2015 Lauren is the artistic director and creator of the concert series Broadway Melody (France Musique, L’Auguste Theatre), her one-woman show Lauren Van Kempen: The Cabaret (Mollini Athens, MUSICA Le Mans, L’Auguste Theatre, Comedie Nation, CPO Lausanne) and Les Jingle Belles-Christmas Cheer: La Magie de Noel (Théâtre de la Fontenay-le-Fleury, Comédie Nation, Disneyland Paris).

In addition to her private studio, Lauren is a vocal coach at Disneyland Paris-working with Disney Artists as well as teaching musical theatre master classes for the Disney Performing Arts department. She is often invited to give musical theatre master classes in Europe, the United Kingdom and the United States.

That’s it, no surprise: the 3rd confinement in France is here to stay! We know these are hard times for many of you, we hear you, and that’s why we are bringing Dear Neighbors back!

Yay!

Yay but keep reading, because WE CHANGE THE RULES.

Because we all need to challenge ourselves with new stuff, this time we are not going to ask you to record a classic video of yourselves singing Broadway, nope… This time we invite you to a BROADWAY RACE, meaning videos will be shorter and you can totally lip-sync! Here’s an example from the wonderful Ben Platt:

And here you have the rules:

- Deadline is Sunday 18th of April
- Videos have to be less than 1 minute
- You can lip-sync (although in the example Evan Hansen doesn´t, we know). We repeat: you CAN lip-sync, and actually for comedy reasons we encourage you to do so!
- We recommend this time to shoot videos in vertical format, but you can use horizontal if you prefer
- Broadway tunes ONLY, and please do NOT use the following musicals: Hamilton, Waitress, Wicked, Dear Evan Hansen, Frozen, Frozen 2. Yes, we’re serious, please don’t use any of these.
- Videos have to be new, for the Dear Neighbors musical, not old videos, or audition videos, or videos you have already published somewhere else. Yeah, just like Eurovision!
- This time is about fun videos, don’t forget it 😉
- Please state your name, name of the song(s), musical and COMPOSER in the video
- You can do your video on your own, or do a (virtual) duet, or a (virtual) group number, or drink wine on camera, or duet with yourselves, or sing with your cat, or… You know the drill!
- Once you have the video, please send it to amtlive.openmic@gmail.com, you can use a Dropbox link or WeTransfer

Let us know if it’s not clear, but basically we are asking you to get in touch with the Muses (if Hercules allows) and write a 1 minute script to put a smile in everybody’s faces. Once again: you can lip-sync, and you don’t want to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity!
