AMT Live! Paris est fière de vous présenter le musical Off-Broadway à Paris: Next Thing You Know!

Communiqué de Presse Next Thing You Know – Reprise 2016 à Poissy, France

Synopsis

Next Thing You Know is the story of four New Yorkers as they laugh, love and drink their way through the big questions that face all young dreamers who wake up in the city that never sleeps. Does marrying a really nice guy mean you’re settling down or just settling? Does taking a nine-to-five equal giving up or growing up? Does a decade in the city break you down or break you in.

This contemporary musical play, which takes place primarily in a cozy neighborhood pub, blends New York cabaret style with British pub theatre. The audience follows the humorous and touching stories of four characters who are exploring professional and personal life decisions.

  1. Bonsoir,

    Good evening!

I have seen the show at La défense on Thursday July 16th and it was very smart.
(I was with an umbrella when it started to rain)
    Two questions:
    1) Is it more difficult to play in a bar or outside?
    2) The owner is called Duncan Mc Leod, isn’t it?
    (this joke sucks,sorry)

    Thank you and best wishes!

    • Hi there!

Thanks so much for coming to the concert show at La Defense hosted by Paris New York TV and L’ete Defacto! We were delighted to have such a receptive crowd, despite the heat and little rain. Thanks for braving the elements to join us. To respond to your first question – we love performing in both settings, but they are certainly different. Generally, since we usually do the show in the intimate pub theatre setting with staging and close interaction with the audience, the challenge to performing outside is that the audience is much further away and our interactions are limited to what we can do standing at the microphone. For our troupe, it’s all a matter of personal preference and where were accustomed to performing. Since this show was developed for the theatrical pub setting, we had to adapt the show for the concert version you saw. In both cases we are delighted to get to present this piece in Paris.

We don’t know any Duncans, but one of our fantastic barkeeps who is a part of the show at The Highlander is named Declan!:-)
Thank YOU so much and we hope to see you again, maybe at la rentree, when we bring the show back at The Highlander pub theatre! Best wishes for a wonderful summer!
